Mobility and International Migration
Expertise France's action thereby contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDG n° 10 which advocates for safe, regular and responsible migration, including through the planning and effective management of migration policies.
As the French public international technical cooperation agency, Expertise France is also working on the implementation of France’s “International Migration and Development” action plan approved by all national stakeholders – the French State, its operators, regional and local authorities and civil society.

• Supporting the preparation and implementation of coherent and sustainable migration policies that respect the rights of individuals

Our method: a comprehensive and inclusive strategy
To take the most appropriate action, Expertise France has a multi-level and multi-sectoral approach to migration and its challenges to ensure it contributes to development. It is based on:

• exchanges of experiences between experts and stakeholders in the sector.
Our projects
MEETAfrica 2 – Promoting innovative entrepreneurship in Africa
2020-2022 – EUR 8.5m (European Union / AFD)
Following on from the MEETAfrica project, MEETAfrica 2 is promoting diaspora entrepreneurship by:
• Creating a Euro-African platform that identifies and classifies the range of services available to diasporas;
• Strengthening actors supporting entrepreneurship;
• Providing technical assistance to entrepreneurs;
• Testing new financing mechanisms.
Migrant reintegration policy in Tunisia
2017-2021 – EUR 2.5m (European Union)
The common reintegration programme assists Tunisians returning to their country, regardless of their country of departure in the European Union.
This multi-institutional programme receives and supports migrants returning to Tunisia by facilitating their access to social rights and allowing them to benefit from assistance and financial aid.
Regionalisation of the migration policy in Morocco
2020-2024 – EUR 9m (AFD)
The project is working with the Souss-Massa and Oriental region to establish:
• regional mechanisms to finance migration and development projects;
• social and administrative assistance to Moroccans residing abroad and immigrants;
• gender equality in access to services.
TEH Project – Fight against human trafficking in Gulf of Guinea countries
2019-2023 – EUR 18m (European Union / French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs)
The project aims to assist the authorities and civil society in six Gulf of Guinea countries (Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Nigeria and Togo) with the fight against human trafficking. It takes an inclusive approach which combines prevention, repression, support to victims and coordination with stakeholders.
