Expertise France at the 2019 Paris Peace Forum
An international event gathering the diversity of all actors in global governance, the Paris Peace Forum will be back for its second edition from 11 to 13 November.
The Forum is the first platform dedicated to governance solutions. It aims to improve world order in order to address the most urgent challenges in the fields of peace-security, development, environment, new technologies, the inclusive economy and culture-education. To address the continuing challenges of world order and the attacks on multilateralism, the Paris Peace Forum is continuing to take action to mobilise all the stakeholders and to act as an incubator to advance concrete solutions.
Expertise France’s teams will be at the Forum to present three of the projects implemented by the agency, which contribute to the various dimensions of peace: fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, strengthening of maritime security and the mobilisation of youth for biodiversity.

AML/CFT facility – Fighting against money laundering and terrorist financing
Expertise France is working on a European Union project which aims to fight against terrorism and money laundering, the AML/CFT facility.
Panel discussion: “Reinforced partnerships against the trafficking of cultural goods and its use to finance terrorism” The cultural heritage is an essential value for humanity and, as such, is a factor for unity that needs to be developed and protected. In addition to sporadic destruction, the cultural heritage is constantly a target for trafficking networks. Profits from theft and the resale of this heritage serve to support criminal and terrorist groups. The organisation of a panel discussion on strengthening partnerships against the trafficking of cultural goods provides the opportunity for exchanges between the relevant stakeholders. The discussion also aims to identify the useful tools, such as the available instruments to fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, and the areas in which technical assistance would be necessary. • When? Wednesday 13 November, 13:00-13:45 • Where? Agora 3 |
