    DURATION

In its new phase, EUROCLIMA+ provides technical and financial support to the development and implementation of climate change adaptation and mitigation policies and facilitates regional policy dialogue and climate action.

Via its partnerships, EUROCLIMA+ seeks to integrate climate change in a policy framework that can at the same time deliver economic growth, improve social equity and enhance environmental protection. EUROCLIMA+ will also support the strategies which Latin American countries have committed themselves to in the context of the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement.

The "Forests, Biodiversity and Ecosystems" component is one of the seven components of the programme. Implemented by Expertise France and GIZ, it has three main objectives:

STRENGTHEN

institutional capacities for integrating the "Forests, Biodiversity and ecosystems" approach into public policies and national and regional actions.

CAPITALIZE

on demonstrative and successful experiences in sustainable forest management that can be replicated in other countries.

PROMOTE

innovative projects and initiatives in the sector, in order to improve the resilience of local communities against the effects of climate change in accordance with the public policies of each country.
