Expertise of regional and local authorities: Expertise France signs an agreement with the Association of French Territorial Administrators
With growing demand for decentralised cooperation, the agreement signed between Expertise France and the Association of French Territorial Administrators will strengthen synergies and help structure our international cooperation projects. Today, AATF has a pool of 220 administrators that can potentially be mobilised at international level. They are identified and listed according to their spheres of competence, their seniority and their language level.

Invaluable expertise in the management of local issues
It may not be very well known, but French regional and local authorities play an essential role in the implementation of the development policy. They benefit from invaluable expertise recognised at international level in the management of local issues: governance, city management, education and training, sustainable development and mobility… These peer-to-peer exchanges build strong cultural and economic links between authorities. They thereby contribute to France’s influence policy.
Supporting the action of authorities
Expertise France already calls on the expertise of authorities in the implementation of cooperation projects. For example, the agency is working on a programme to develop the public investment projects of Brazilian municipalities via public-private partnerships (PPPs). It will require the expertise of authorities in the four priority areas of infrastructure identified to meet the needs of Brazilian municipalities: solid waste management, wastewater treatment, urban mobility and street lighting.
