The MEET Africa programme came about through an observation and desire shared by two continents. Africa is a continent overflowing with potential and innovations and its European diaspora is both a dynamic and legitimate intermediary for this. MEET Africa thereby finds its rationale by giving entrepreneurs the means to contribute to economic development and job creation in their countries of origin.
Dedicated support mechanism
MEET Africa has opted to support diaspora entrepreneurs with a dedicated mechanism. Dreams and ideas abound. But they need interconnected referral and support networks to make wishes a reality.
From the provision of targeted information to establishing contacts with actors that provide support and assistance and up to financing, MEET Africa aims to be the organic and organised network for diaspora entrepreneurs.

Are you an entrepreneur from the African diaspora?
MEET Africa has launched a call for applications. You can register on the meetafrica.fr website to obtain useful information concerning your project and the possibilities for support: https://meetafrica.fr/formulaire.html
• About 150 projects will be selected
• To be eligible, you must have a business project in Africa or in both France and Africa.
Entrepreneurs residing in the other European Union countries may also benefit from the reception and referral services of the MEET Africa platform.
Are you an actor supporting entrepreneurship?
MEET Africa 2 targets all actors in the entrepreneurial ecosystem able to provide specific support to diaspora entrepreneurs.
Your active participation in building this ecosystem is essential because entrepreneurs need you. It is an opportunity for you to enhance your visibility and expertise by participating in this transfer of know-how. MEET Africa considers these potential synergies as “win-win” partnerships that will be developed in the future.
The partners of MEET Africa
The programme follows on from the actions carried out for years by the European Union and Member States, in particular France and Germany, to boost the momentum of wealth and job creation in Africa.
This second edition of MEET Africa is cofinanced by the European Union and Agence Française de Développement (AFD). It is implemented by Expertise France in partnership with GIZ (Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) and the Anima Investment Network.
In line with phase 1 of MEET Africa, during which 80 business start-up projects were supported, the 2nd edition is continuing to deploy the mechanism.
